Mixed use complex
Residential·Beirut Central District·2018·On Hold
Developed through a series of massing studies, this residential complex in Beirut's central district works through a family of stacked and offset volumes before settling on its final composition: a slender glazed tower rising from a more solid stone-clad base, with a smaller secondary volume tucked alongside it. The massing studies themselves trace how the design arrived at that balance, testing denser, more sculptural stacks of interlocking blocks before resolving into the cleaner, more vertical composition of the final scheme.
In its built form, the tower's glazed skin catches the surrounding city in reflection by day and glows from within at night, while the stone base grounds the composition at street level, giving the building a quieter, more solid presence where it actually meets the pedestrian.
