Jo Geitani Architects: architecture, interiors and design, from Beirut to the region

Jo Geitani Architects (JGA) is an architecture and design studio based in Beirut, Lebanon, founded by architect Jo Geitani. For 40 years, the studio has carried one conviction from project to project: a building, an interior and an object deserve the same rigour, the same clarity of form and the same attention to the people who will live with them.

That conviction has taken JGA across every scale. The studio designs corporate headquarters and office buildings that give institutions a confident, lasting presence in the city. It shapes residential buildings, villas and private retreats that respond to their landscape, from the sea to the mountains. It plans mixed-use complexes and waterfront resorts where living, working and leisure come together. And it designs the interiors and furniture that complete these spaces, down to a lamp or a bookcase. Few studios move as naturally from the master plan to the detail.

Much of this work has grown from Beirut, where JGA has contributed landmark buildings to the city centre, including the M1 Building and the Omnia residences, and long-standing work for institutions such as Blom Bank. From this base, the studio's reach has extended to France and across the Middle East, to the United Arab Emirates, where three of its residential resorts are under construction in Al Zorah, and to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt and Jordan. Each new context is studied, never imposed upon: climate, culture and site guide the form.

What defines JGA is a balance rarely held together: geometric precision with warmth, ambition with restraint, contemporary architecture with a deep respect for place. Material honesty and craftsmanship run through every project, whether it is a 19,000 m² headquarters or a single piece of furniture.
