Blom bank

Renovating an existing Blom Bank building in Hamra, the project's most visible move is also its simplest: wrapping the facade in a dense screen of vertical fins that catches the Beirut light in constant, shifting stripes of shadow. Seen from below, against the sky, the fins compress into an almost woven texture, softening the building's mass and giving what was likely a conventional twentieth-century elevation a new, more tactile identity. It's a renovation that changes how the building reads from the street without needing to touch its underlying structure.
